Yana Borisovna Ushakova-Lehto, otherwise know to us BAAA members as Yana Lehto, will give this months presentation on Thursday, May 5th, 2005. Yana will share with us her journey as an artist, her training, and her art career in Russia. She will also do a demonstration for us.
Yana studied at the Vladivostok Art College from 1990 - 1995(branch of easel painting). She then attended the Far East State Art Academy, also in Vladivostok from 1995 - 2001. She holds a Master Degree in Art.
During her college years Ms Lehto was an Instructor at the Regional Childrens Art Gallery and also instructed children at the Primorye Art Gallery. Since 1993 Yana has either been exhibiting, organizing, volunteering, or teaching art. In 2002 she immigrated to the United States with her husband, Andrew. In 2003 the Lehtos were blessed with baby Nicole Andreya and the following year Yana began volunteering at the Boys & Girls Club in Coos Bay, teaching art. She recently assisted in one of the CAM childrens art classes.
